Gin for the Win

How much Gin is too much Gin? Well in my personal opinion there really isn't an answer for this question...I guess that makes it a rhetorical question.

Mmiso, the mixologist at Gemelli Restaurant

Just for a little background, I have not always been a friend of Gin. In fact I only started drinking it for the first time in May 2018, and what can I say, we have become BFF's. And like most of my BFF relationships, there has in fact been no turning back since.

My first encounter with Gin was with a cocktail made by the mixologist, Mmiso, at Gemelli Restaurant. It is one of his specialities, and is called 'Shameless'. The name is extremely apt, especially as you wake up feeling like Frank from the TV-show the following morning. It literally goes down like 'mothers milk' and one soon leads to ten. The drink is made with Beefeater Gin, sugar syrup and Chambord. Definitely one of my favourites.

Since then I have started trying as many Gin's out there and have definitely found some favourites and some not so fabulous on my palette.

With this in mind, I am focussing the blog on travel destinations, both local and international, and my favourite drinks. I will be doing a separate blog on some of my best Gin's as well as other drinks that totally rock my world.

A disclaimer - I am in fact a bit of a light weight, and will not be commenting on how many it takes to make you fall over, because in my case it's not too many.

Let me know if you have a favourite drink that you would like me to review.
