HospiceWits Night with the Stars has fast become the ‘it’ event on the calendar of many a fashionista. 7 April 2019, would show me why.
With a stellar line up of more than 100 celebrities, musicians and leading South African designers, this year promised to once again blow everyone away.
Well known director, Jan Malan from Umzingeli Productions was in charge and let me just say this, ‘WOW! As always he produced a masterpiece.’
It was the first time that I attended NWTS and let me tell you I have already pencilled it in for next year’s calendar. My fashion thirst was quenched with the unique creations that were showcased on the runway by some of the biggest names in SA fashion.
Gert-Johan Coetzee, JJ Schoeman, Clive Rundle, Thebe Magugu and Erre to name a few, dressed well-known A-listers to the likes of Joe Rasdien, Kelly Khumalo, Jason Goliath, Lira, Danny K, Ayanda MVP, MsCosmo.
The Mzanzi Youth Choir entertained us with their beautiful voices and the highlight of the musical performances for me, was definitely new-comer Kyla Nicole. This girl has some serious pipes on her, and I for one cannot wait to download her latest song.
I had a proper fan girl moment when I met the beautiful songstress Lira, what a gorgeous human and a wonderful end to a magnificent night.
Jacqui Kaye, CEO of HospiceWits exclaimed how not only is NWTS an important and integral part of HospiceWits’ fundraising efforts, but it gives us the added benefit to celebrate and showcase South African creativity and design talent. All funds raised are used towards providing care and support for patients and their families.
Make sure to keep an eye out for this iconic event in 2020, as I imagine it being even bigger and better.
